hm, at six weeks mine still had day and night mixed up, so we would sleep during the day, and we’d be up at night. We would also sleep in the recliner with him on the boppy – or in the bed on my back with a pillow under my legs and him on me. – with him “on me” we’d get 5 hours of sleep at a time – with him next to me in the bed, it would only be an hour. As they say, he was held 24/7 for nine months, so when the baby is out its an immediate downgrade. lol.
I have a bad hip, so I could ony do this for a few weeks, and then we got a cradle swing that is right next to our bed. At the beginning, he’d sleep 4 or 5 hours, but by the 4th month he slept 7 or 8 – and this is being breastfed.
Also, if he’s spitting up, he might have acid reflux, so lying down flat might be painful for him, so having him on some type of reclined surface might help – either a wedge next to you or in a cradle swing.
Also, you might sidecar your crib so he would be right next to you without actually being in your bed, if that makes you uncomfortable. With a reclined wedge in the crib, this might help.
This won’t last forever, pretty soon he’ll be sleeping longer stretches – its amazing how fast they grow!
Oh, and dont try to get anything “done” while he’s sleeping – the old adage is true – sleep when the baby sleeps, at whatever time that might be.!

PS Sometimes it helps to know others are worse off than you – I know several breastfeeding moms whose babies only sleep an hour at a time – for months, even a year. So if you ever get more than an hour, count your blessings. I know I do.

How do I get over my interest in girls?
I’ve never been in a relationship, ever. I’ve never dated, and I’ve never directly asked somebody out. And I don’t want to do any of those things, either. No good ever really comes of it. The only people in our society who genuinely “found true love” are old people who work really hard at convincing themselves they still have feelings and married couples with children who don’t want to put their kids through the emotional stress of a divorce. In fact, the only reason the elderly have remained married is because they come from an era where divorce carried a stigma. Everybody else in our society is so easily convinced they’re in love when they’re not. Whether they realize in one month, one year, or ten years (even twenty), it’s only going to bring them misery in the end. And there’s no way to avoid it if it wasn’t meant to be (which it never is). Prolong marriage, get to know the other person as a close friend and family member, play conservatively with compliments and strong words, it doesn’t matter what you do. Nothing helps. Just wait, in the next 30 years the divorce rate will skyrocket to around 70%. Custody battles, loss of personal belongings, monetary problems, and of course, heartbreak. I want to stay as far away from it as possible.

How to I get rid of my interest in girls? I don’t want to get myself into any trouble, so I want to just get rid of my fantasies. Is there any proven method of becoming asexual?
Oh? What if we aren’t? What if nature only intended us to have sexual relations with each other just for the sake of reproduction? No other animal I can think of prioritizes companionship.
I’ll be watching friends begin families, find themselves divorcing, losing custody of their children, and being put in a financial hole. Trust me, in the next 30 years, the divorce rate will increase exponentially compared to what it is now. There are only two possible reasons why old couples haven’t divorced: a) they were raised in a time when divorce had a stigma attached to it and they never wanted anything to do with it, or b) they are just very, very close. They love each other as family. The physical attraction people have between each other inevitably fades.

I will address most of these statements.

1. Guys are more emotional then you think, if they loved you at one point, it’ll take them a lot longer then you think to let you go, and it hurts every second that they try. TRUE. We all have feelings and emotions. Some guys are raised by their parents to be strong and never show their emotions but they sill have them. I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve.

3. Guys go crazy over a girl’s smile. TRUE A girl’s smile and her sweet, intoxicating laughter will melt our hearts.

4. Guys will do anything just to get you to notice him. For the more confident guys, TRUE. For the shy guys (like I was), we will just hope that you notice us. We might be very kind to you in hopes that you notice us but we will not make a big scene.

5. Guys hate it when you talk about your ex-boyfriend or ex love-interest. Unless they’re going for the let-her-complain-to-you-and-then-have-he… method. TRUE We still tend to be insecure – especially if you are speaking fondly about an ex.

6. A guy who likes you wants to be the only guy you talk to. TRUE Many guys, like me, do not want to limit your friends and we will not tell you that you cannot talk to any other guys however we might feel that in our hearts.

7. Boyfriends need to be reassured often that they’re still loved. TRUE In a successful relationship, both partners should frequently show their love for each other and say those three magic words “I LOVE YOU”, somewhat frequently.

8. Guys don’t care how gorgeous you are, if you’re a *********– Goodbye. TRUE No guy will last very long with a b*tch unless they are only doing it for the money. In that case, love is not part of the equation.

10. Girls are guys’ weaknesses. TRUE For me, Ticklish girls (who enjoy tickling and being tickle) are my biggest weakness.

11. Guys are very open about themselves. TRUE for me. Not so true for others. This is not gender specific. Some guys and some girls are very open about themselves and others are very private – especially if they had a traumatic experience in their life (rape, molestation, abuse…)

12. If a guy tells you about his problems, he just needs someone to listen to him. You don’t need to give advice. In some cases they just want to vent and in other cases, they are seeking advice. For the most part, they are just venting. We still have the stigma that we need to be the strong providers.

13. A usual act that proves that the guy likes you is when he teases you. TRUE for many. For me, the proof is in the actions and words. A girl knows that I like her by the way I respect her and volunteer to help her as needed. If the conversation turns to relationship, I respectfully express my feelings and desires.

14. Guys love you more than you love them. Not gender specific. This is TRUE and FALSE for guys and girls. Some do and some don’t. With me, I give 150% to a relationship and I am deeply hurt when it ends.

15. Guys use words like hot or cute to describe girls. They rarely use beautiful or gorgeous. If a guy uses that, he loves you or likes you a whole hell of a lot. TRUE. I call my gf Sexyness.

16. No matter how much guys talk about asses and boobs, personality is key. TRUE I, personally, have an attraction to women with smaller breasts however I have never dated a woman for her breast size – I have dated her for her personality and the way she made me feel. Some of the women I have dated had very large breasts because I fell in love with her regardless of her breast size.

21. When a guy says he is going crazy about the girl, he really is. Guys rarely say that. TRUE

22. When a guy asks you to leave him alone, he’s just actually saying, “Please come and listen to me.” but if he said he doesn’t want to talk about it, give him a day or 2 and he will come out. TRUE Many guys will say that because they are supposed to be strong and not show any weaknesses however we all crave affection and emotional support. I, personally, have never told a woman to leave me alone.

24. When a guy tells you that you are beautiful, don’t say you aren’t. It makes them want to stop telling you because they don’t want you to disagree with them. TRUE I tend to be a little hurt when i tell a woman that she is beautiful and she denies it. In effect, she is calling me a liar to my face.

30. A guy would give his left nut to be able to read a girl’s mind for a day. TRUE. It is scientifically proven that men and women think differently. To understand my mate’s thought process would make it dramatically easier for me to propose ideas in a way which sounds more appealing to her. Also, if she was mad at me, I would better understand why.
